It is true, on July 28, 2012 Stephen entered the waters of Baptism at 4:20ish pm my time. It was amazing, aside the fact that Elder Brush almost cracked his head open, but it was amazing!! It was so nice to see him all in white, to be clean from sin. It was a beautiful service and ordinance. I am so grateful to be a missionary! My joy is once again full! I am so happy to bring light and learning into his life! I truly do love this man, he may be stubborn and no compliant at times but he finally did it! what a relief! There will be pictures to follow this email. dont worry you will see a face with the name. :)
SO my week. WHAT a week! It went by too fast!! we were so busy teaching that we didnt know up from down! and it is so much fun! we have a new investigator, Adela. She is so cutie and amazing. and so smart, but her language is more basic, mostly because she knows spanish better than ASL/English. but she is on her way to baptism too! she has come to church twice and has met with us twice and has started reading the picture book of mormon. and she is loving the spirit in her life. our first lesson with her, her friend Anna came, she is a member and brought her to church the first time, well Adela felt the spirit so strong that she cried in the middle of the lesson and accepted baptism!!! we are so excited for her! She also told us that she has the desire to stop smoking, we think this will be our biggest challenge for us. but alas we need a little trials right. :) We are still teaching, Alisa, Adriana, and Ashley, they are all sisters and there mom is a recent convert. the two youngest are very happy to be learning the gospel they are 11 and 13 but Ashley is 15 and is struggling. we recently taught them the word of wisdom and the law of Chastity and she said she would not follow either and doesnt pray when we leave. SO... ... we are praying... but we have the support of all of her family.
I am happy that everyone has made it home and safe. I am sorry that it is so hot in Colorado. It has cooled down a lot here so tracting is a lot better and we are not sweating all the time anymore, which i like. Mom, when you tell me you and the kids go swimming... to you know how hard it is not to be jealous, there are pools everywhere here, in fact in Juana's backyard, where we teach her every week is a pool, and all we would need to do is take one wrong step and we would be in water, so... some times when you tell me that you go swimming all the time is not that nice... fyi. but i still love you. I have no idea where this week has gone... it went by so fast... and we have no clue how stephen got baptized... it is crazy... all i know is that i was supper stressed... so stressed that i received a cold sore... not nice... and it hurts alot... i got some stuff to put on it but it doesnt help in the slightest so i think i might go big and get the good stuff... abrivia. but we are happy that both sister tagge and i did not get sick this week, that is a blessing. :) Mom, you would be so proud of me... my nails look amazing and getting long for me... can you believe it... i havent bitten my nails for four weeks now!! :) yay me!!! OH! that reminds me... there is a huge controversy going on at the deaf branch if it is modest to wear nail polish... we the women say it is a yes and the men say it is a no... welll... i find it very intersting as both sister tagge and i have our nails painted right now... sister tagges are brown and mine are pink... we think that the sisters of the branch are happy with the missionaries, sisters and elders to be on their side. :) we just think it is super funny!!
Mom, Thank you so much for all you do for me!! thank you for dealing with my cell phone and all that goes with it! it really means a lot to me that you are helping me. there are many blessing that are coming your way i promise! I love you so muCH!
That was very nice of you to spend time with Morgan and Masen, I sometimes write them letters and i have no idea if they get them or not... i hope so...
My hair is getting long too... i cant decide if i want to cut it again or not... but the ends look gross... so i dont know... oh and my white spots are more noticeable than ever... it is kinda funny, but i like it!! :)
Cali is getting baptized this saturday i am so excited for her!!! it will be a lot of fun!! i am sending her a card so i hope she likes it! and i know she will have fun!!!
How is everyone doing... give me an update on the family... the whole family... like has ryan gotten his call yet??? is jessica pg yet?? ;) how is diana... how is grandpa... where is he living now... i want to write him a letter and stuff but i dont know where to send it... how are jeff and joe??? how is Dad?
Well, I want everyone to know that i love them so much! And i am so thankful for all that they do for me! I am so happy for all of them to be my family. I can feel their love and support all the time and i am so grateful for it! I love you all so very much! I want you all to know that being a missionary for the lord is and has changed me for the better, and i like the person i am becoming. I just pray and hope you all like me too... that i wont be a know it all when it comes to the gospel but i am just soaking it all up like a sponge and i love my studies they are so much fun!! i cant wait for the whole of my life to study the scriptures and the gospel!! there is so much in them!!!
I love you all!
God Be With You Til We Meet Again!!
Love,
Sister Longan
