I got letters!! Thank you so so so much!!! and I love all of the pictures, I decorated my planner with some of them, and thank you for the pictures of Rufus, they made my day!!! This was a good week. How is everyone??? leave in a week and a half!!! yah I should be getting my travel plans anytime today!! woot woot!! I cant wait, I just hope that my plane doesn't leave super early and I have to get up in the middle of the night because I know I won't be able to sleep. I got another letter from the sisters in my mission. They said that once I get there, there will be 7 ASL missionaries in my mission for a short time, that is so so so awesome!!! I cannot wait to get there, and it snowed finally here, but I really can't enjoy it like at home, sad day. So there is a sister I know from my singles ward, I was so so so happy to see her and get to talk to her, she had no clue that I was even serving a mission. But seeing her makes me miss all of my friends, but I can move on from that, but it's good to see one face that I know!! Oh on Sunday for R.S. Sister Wixiom, the general president for primary came and spoke to us. I loved it, I miss little kids even more now, she told us to smile at all the little children to show that Jesus Christ loves them and that he knows and cares about them, I was almost in tears so many times during her talk, I really liked it. My companion, Sister Cardita, is going to temple square, we thought she started her training for that next week, nope we were wrong, yesterday right before dinner we were called to the office and we were informed that she starts her training today, oh joy, and that now my companions are Sister Garner and Sister Querry and they are my roommate, but all is well, now. Story time: so the elders are not that bright...week ago Monday they decided to take some fiber pills to clean out their system, but they were very upset to find out that this did not work, in fact, the pills made it so they could not poop at all. two of them, my district leader and one of my zone leaders gets the smart idea of taking exlax.... not such a great idea, it took 6 hours to kick in, one elder went 9 times and the other elder went a whopping 24 times... that's a lot... a lot alot alot!! and of course because we are together all the time the whole district knew about it, its a great lesson to learn, don't take the exlax that the book store sells, because 6 hours later you will be paying for it big time!!! That's this story for this week. I hope you enjoyed it :) well my time is running short and so I have to end, all is well on this side, and I pray that the same for you on your end! GOD BE WITH YOU TIL WE MEET AGAIN!!
Sister Longan was called to serve in Anaheim, California. She will serve the people there for the next 18 months. This is a journal blog of all of her adventures while she in the field!

Week 5
hello everyone-
I wishing all is well. the mtc as been such a fun learning experience, i am learning so so much, well i am in a class room for over 10 hours a day... but i love it :). what i have found to be very hard here at the mtc is that you make friends and then they leave, this is not fun, especially if they play volleyball with you and are extremely tall, not nice.. right. but all is well address have been exchanged as we can stay in contact. :) On Sundays my district has taken to watching the Mormon messages, i never realized how powerful they really can be, i advise everyone to check them out either on YouTube, mormon.org, or lds.org, there are a lot of good messages that need to be heard. I am very grateful to be serving my Heavenly Father, and i know he is very happy with my decision, and i know he will help me grew in so many way over these next 17 months that i know come to know myself a lot better. i have only three weeks left at the mtc and i am sad to leave it behind it has become my home, my safe place, but then again i can not wait to get out there and start teaching those who need the gospel in their lives. i know my savior lives and that he loves each and very one of you, that he wants you to be happy and succeed in life, he will help you out in this, all you need to do is ask. Love you all have a good week :) - Sister Longan

Week 4
During gym time my companion and i typically play volleyball, and we have so much fun, but i must confess... we are not good at it, in the slightest, and neither is my district... but we all have fun anyway. we have gained a BIFFL (best friends for life) while playing because we always call him to be on our team, he is rather tall,, and can just hold his arms up and he hits and blocks the ball, what is cool is that he is from Colorado too, some little town near grand junction... Andy we also have another BIFFL he is our fireside/devotional BIFFL he saves our front row seats for us :) ALWAYS!!! we love this BIFFL!! he also always comes and talks to us to see how we are doing well, all is will and I'm half way through my time at the mtc, and I'm loving it. Love you all :)

Week three.... almost a week late!
This letter was written to Mom and me. I took some things out, so it might not make sense in some parts, but I wanted to include a week three letter. (Some family members have complained, CRYSTAL!) HAHA
so i just go some letters from you... not even five mins ago so i will read them when i am doing laundry :) ummm... oh i got your gift, well i appreciate it but it was broken and smelled like really really really REALLY old ladies... so it just went right into the trash... but thanks :) hmmm lets see what is there to tell you hmm, well the Elders in my zone that arrived when we did got to leave for their mission yesterday and today, sad day but they were only English speaking but they will be missed on the v-ball court. with the money you gave me i bought a watch which i love because it is pink but it is way way way too big!! but is ok, i also bought this really nice binder that i can use, thats what everyone is doing hence why i decided to do it, and it looks so nice and it is all organized and everything :) and so i can send home the notebook i was using so you can have my notes, also i need to send home some of my letters soon, i didn't realize how many i have and I'm happy that i am getting them they make me happy :) so the sisters from my mission wrote me YAY!! and they also sent the pass a long cards that are for the ASL branch! and the Christmas pictures of them i really enjoyed this it ment alot. me that i can see who i will be with and that there is work for me to do :) hmmm the food here does not seem to be getting better... at ALL, hmm Ive lost about five pounds since coming, and the showers, some are way tooooo hot that you cant even shower cause they are too hot, or they are cold and wont turn hot, so showers are not always the best, but on occasion i can get one that is perfect! i have tons of pictures for you..... once you send me the memory card i can send this one!!! i have Christmas, temple walks, messing around at night! sandies package... so yep... umm I'm teaching two investigators right now (they are really just my teachers) and i am loving it, i have seen and felt the experience of when the holy ghost uses me as a tool to get across to the investigator, scriptures will pop into my mind that apply i can explain doctrine very clear and never the same way, i really cannot wait to get out into the feild and start working. Last night elder Walker came from the presidency of the 70, he is over all of the temples in the world, he said that we have 136 temples now and that Monson has announced since becoming the prophet 29 temples that is amazing how we have so many, it brings joy into my heart, but Elder Walker talked about the 10 things missionaries need to do so they can have a good mission, i will send all of them later but thats what was talked about. bednar talked about the character of Christ and how we need to turn outward and help others when we are turning inwards and only thinking of our self's, Christ shows this all of his life, its amazing! I'm poor companion sister cardita is getting sick, i feel so bad for her that she is,and praying that i wont get sick too. we have so much fun together, last night her and sister querry were having farting contests, of farting under each others blankets before we went to bed, it was a hoot... and the Elders in my district, well are all do close we talk about everything, and its nice to know that if any of us need a blessing they can give us one right away without delay, in fact a few of them carry oil so they can. i love reading what is happening in the family even if its about you laughing and cali throwing up and getting on Linda... i laughed too so don't feel so bad. ;) sorry my Christmas e-mail was not long i tried the best i could to write you. today we are getting new elders and sisters i hope Jon comes today so i can see him. oh and if you want to see who my teachers are.. go to lds.org
love
